Police Appeal For Witnesses To Fatal Clerkenwell Road Accident

Police have appealed for witnesses to a fatal collision in Clerkenwell on Sunday.

Police were called to reports that a black Mercedes saloon had been in collision with a motorcycle at about 23:10 on Farringdon Road, EC1.

Despite the efforts of police, London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance 38-year-old male, said to have been the rider of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene at 23:53.

The driver who stopped at the scene was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is currently in custody at a central London police station.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Alperton are investigating. They are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed or may have information regarding the collision.

Fatal Collision In Tottenham
Officers are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road collision in Tottenham. Police were called at 9.20am on Tuesday to Broad Lane, north London following reports of a van in collision with a motorcyclist. Officers, London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance attended. The male motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene 9.52am.

Men Arrested After Selfridges Smash-And-Grab Robbery
Two men were arrested following a smash-and-grab robbery at a Selfridges store on Oxford Street, central London around 20:30 on Thursday night. The Guardian has reported witnesses claiming to have seen six men "with guns and motorcycles" carry out the raid on the department store.

Arrests Follow Edmonton Murder
Police investigating the murder of 15-year old Negus McLean in Edmonton have today made a further two arrests. A 14-year old boy, and a 16-year old boy, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody. Police were called at 7.25pm on Sunday 10 April to reports of a stabbing in Westminster Road, north London.

East London Murder Appeal
Detectives have appealed for information about the murder of a woman in Manor Park. Aliza Ahmed Mirza, 18, a student from Ilford, died on Saturday 3 April. Police had been called to reports of a collapsed female. It is believed she was stabbed while in the Forest View Road area. Miss Mirza was taken to hospital but later pronounced dead.

Father Appeals Over Paralysed Son's Shooting
The father of a teenager paralysed in a shooting incident has joined investigating officers to urge witnesses to come forward. Speaking from his son's hospital bedside Paul Smith said he knew people had information about those who shot and injured Raphael Smith, but couldn't understand why they had not spoken to police.
