Police Scotland have appealed for help in tracing a man missing from a Glasgow hospital.

Iain McHarg, 58, is a patient at Leverndale Hospital in the Pollok area and was last seen at 1330 hours on Tuesday 11 August 2015.

He is described as 6'2", heavy build, bald with short grey hair at the sides and stubble. He is believed to be wearing a black jumper, black trousers and black and grey walking boots.

Inspector Iain Greene said: "Iain was a long-term resident at Leverndale Hospital and was due to be released.

"He disappeared before he was discharged and we are concerned about his well-being.

"Iain is known to frequent a number of casinos in the Glasgow area and I would appeal to anyone who recognises his description to contact police immediately.

"I would also appeal directly to Iain to get in touch to let us know he is safe."
