Man Sought Over Attack On Bus Inspector

Police are trying to identify a man suspected of assaulting a Transport for London Revenue Protection Inspector (RPI) on a bus in Westminster.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, 21 July at about 12:30hrs, at Parliament Square on the 148 bus route. The victim, a 58-year-old man, was attacked after he asked to check the man's ticket.

The victim was punched in the face several times sustaining bruising and cuts to the face but he did not require hospital treatment.

The suspect is described as a tall black man, with short black hair. He wore a light coloured t-shirt and shorts.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Constable Neil Webb, who is leading the investigation on 020 3054 6712 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Man dies after bus stabbing
Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed to death following a row on a double-decker bus in London on Friday night. Richard Whelan, 28, was stabbed after attempting to stop a man who was shouting at passengers and throwing takeaway food on the top deck of a Number 43 bus in Islington.
