Four Injured In Ambulance Crash

A man is in a critical condition in Royal London Hospital following a collision between ambulance and a car in Hertfordshire.

It is understood the collision occurred at about 10am on Thursday morning in St Albans as the East of England Ambulance Service vehicle was responding to a 999 call.

The ambulance service said that a second paramedic crew was dispatched to the original incident.

Three other people were injured in the collision, including an elderly woman who suffered a head injury and suspected fracture and the two ambulance staff.

An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.

Clydesbank Body Find Believed To Be Missing 88-Year-Old

Police Scotland have said that they believe a body found in Clydebank is that of missing 88-year-old Janet McKay.

Ms McKay was reported missing from her home in Knightswood on Wednesday 16 September.

A body was discovered in Clydesbank at 10:30am on Thursday.

Police said that they believe it to be Ms McKay. There are no suspicious circumstances.

Mother Admits Primark Breastfeeding Accusations Were False

A woman who claimed a Primark security guard took her baby from her while she was breastfeeding, has admitted she lied.

At Leicester Crown Court, 28-year-old Caroline Starmer pleaded guilty to a charge of intent to pervert the course of justice.

Ms Starmer made the claim on Facebook and it was widely reported.

The case was adjourned until 3 December for reports to be prepared.

Essex Police have reported the death of a man who fell from Eastbourne Pier, while carrying out construction work. It is understood that a 44-year-old man from Cumbria was working on the recently fire-damaged pier when he fell to the beach below on Tuesday afternoon.

Prince William To Become Air Ambulance Pilot
Kensington Palace has announced that Prince William is to join the East Anglian Air Ambulance from next spring. The Duke of Cambridge will take on the role of an air ambulance pilot, working both day and night shifts, while also continuing to undertake duties on behalf of the Queen. The Duke is said to be "hugely excited and motivated" by the role.

A woman has given birth to a girl outside a Primark store in Birmingham city centre. Reports say the woman was surrounded by a crowd of people who cheered and showered her with money as paramedics were helping the new mum.
