British Airways Reveals Heathrow To Inverness Route

British Airways has announced a new route from Heathrow to Inverness.

The year-round service will begin on 03 May 2016.

It will connect Inverness with Heathrow's T5 along with the airlines global network.

Denize Mcgregor, British Airways' head of UK customer service and operations, said: "We are very pleased to be starting our new service to Inverness."

"As the capital of the Highlands, Inverness has a strong and diverse economy and has developed into a major centre for life sciences, commercialisation and research."

Derek Mackay, Scottish Minister for Transport and the Islands, added: "This is fantastic news for the Highlands, offering a new direct link with London and opening up a wide range of onward connections from Heathrow."

Catering dispute talks as BA flights resume
Talks in an attempt to resolve an industrial dispute that had sparked the chaos which stranded 70,000 passengers at Heathrow, are expected to resume today. The sacking of around 670 workers at in-flight meals company Gate Gourmet led to sympathy action by BA baggage handlers.

BA to add 200 more customer service staff at Heathrow
British Airways (BA) is to recruit 200 extra customer service staff following a review of the airline’s Heathrow operation. The new staff will be in addition to 216 new airport terminal staff already being trained and drafted into the British Airways operation at Heathrow.

Heathrow Bosses Propose Investment Plan Which Could Raise Ticket Prices
A £3bn five-year investment plan proposed by Heathrow bosses could lend to a rise in ticket prices. Bosses at the airport want regulators to allow it to increase charges for airlines to use the airport, between 2014 and 2019. The proposal would see prices rise by the equivalent of £19.33 per passenger for 2012-13 up to a possible £27.30 in 2018-19.

Snoop Dogg to leave UK
US rap star Snoop Dogg is to leave the UK on Friday after being arrested during a disturbance at Heathrow Airport earlier this week. The 34-year-old star, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, was released on bail on Thursday. He has not been charged.
