Rape charge against Leeds Utd footballer is dropped

Premiership footballer Jody Morris, who had been accused of rape, has had the charges against him dropped today.

Mr Morris (24), from Wellington Street, Leeds, and Kristofer Dickie (26), from Skelwith Road, in Fulham, London, were both charged with the alleged rape of a 20-year-old woman in Leeds on October 6 2003.

But the Crown Prosecution Service said that it would not be pursuing the case as there was no longer a realistic prospect of a conviction.

The CPS made their decision after new forensic evidence was presented to the court.
