Boy killed in car accident at Gatwick Airport named

The three-year-old boy killed in a car accident at Gatwick Airport on Saturday has been named.

Rhys Edward Hood, from Brecon in Wales, had gone to the airport to see his grandparents off on a holiday flight. He hit by a vehicle as his father and grandfather were unloading luggage from the boot of their car at the North Terminal in Gatwick Airport.

Paramedics attempted to resuscitate the boy at the scene but he was later pronounced dead in hospital.

The car park was closed off for a time as investigators examined the scene of the tragedy.

Anyone who witnessed the accident should contact Sussex police.

Race hate preacher deported
Race hate cleric Abdullah al-Faisal has been deported from Britain, Home Secretary John Reid has confirmed. The 39-year-old, who is of Jamaican origin, is understood to have left Gatwick airport, bound for Jamaica, around midday, accompanied by two police escorts and an immigration officer.

Two more arrested over attempted car bombings
Police investigating the attempted car bombings in London and Glasgow airport have arrested two more people. Two men, aged 28 and 25, were arrested in the Paisley area, west of Glasgow on Sunday night Five people are still being held in connection with the attacks, but it is believed that at least one suspect remains on the run.

Airport operator BAA has announced plans to sell the UK's second-largest airport, Gatwick "immediately". BAA's Chief Executive Colin Matthews, in a statement, said: "Gatwick has long been an important and valuable part of BAA and the decision to sell was not taken lightly.

Alton Towers Opens Again After Skyride Blaze Accident
Theme park Alton Towers has reopened after a blaze, which broke out in a cable car station on Sunday. The fire started at the Skyride cable car station around 7.30pm last night while guests attended the park's Halloween event, Scarefest. One part of the Staffordshire park was evacuated, as 50 firefighters tackled the blaze.
