Toddler dies in 'tragic accident' at canal

A toddler has died after he fell into a canal while trying to retrieve a football, it has been reported today.

A Lancashire police spokesperson described the incident as a "tragic accident".

It has been reported that the child was with his parents at a nearby park when he left them to try to retrieve his football.
