Four arrested following Beeb's BNP documentary
Four men have been arrested today following the broadcast of a BBC documentary on the British National Party.
A 23-year-old Bradford man was arrested in connection with racially aggravated public order offences, and a 35-year-old man and a 40-year-old man, both from Keighley, were arrested in connection with conspiracy to commit damage. A 51-year-old Bradford man was also arrested in connection with racially aggravated harassment.
All four are being questioned at police stations in West Yorkshire.
A police spokesperson said: "West Yorkshire Police and the Crown Prosecution Service are continuing to liase closely as part of the ongoing investigation."
The arrests were the result of an enquiry launched following the broadcast of the BBC programme 'Secret Agent' on Thursday July 15.
A Parliamentary Early Day Motion on issue, which acquired the backing of 43 MPs including Peter Mandelson and Frank Dobson, today stated: "[That this House] further notes that four BNP councillors were elected on 10th June in Bradford [and] considers that these victories were obtained by deception of the electorate; and calls on the councillors to resign and fight by-elections under their true colours."

Seven Arrested On Suspicion Of Terrorist Fundraising
Seven people have been arrested on suspicion of terrorist financing offences, according to the Metropolitan Police. They were arrested at four separate addresses in London, Cardiff and Coventry at approximately 6am on suspicion of being concerned in the funding of a terrorist organisation, and laundering the proceeds of crime for that purpose.

French Police Arrest Convicted On-The-Run Rapist
A 56-year-old convicted rapist who went on the run before his trial has been captured in France. Police in Calais arrested George Doulat, from Filey, North Yorkshire, on Monday. In his absence, Doulat was convicted at Bradford Crown Court for the rape, attempted rape and sexual assault of a 19-year-old woman in 2012. He was sentenced to 10 years.

Wanted Man Arrested In London
The man wanted in connection with the murder of a 66-year-old man who intervened during a robbery, has been arrested. Ian John McLoughlin, 55, was arrested in London at around 01:00. He was wanted on suspicion of murder and robbery. Airports and ports had been put on alert as police hinted for McLoughlin.

Police Dig Up Pub Patio In Search For Missing Landlady
Police investigating the disappearance of a landlady in Cambridgeshire in 1997 are digging up the patio of her former pub. Deborah Steel, 37, was landlady of the Royal Standard in Ely, Cambridgeshire, when she disappeared on 28 December 1997. Police have said that Ms Steel's disappearance is now being treated as a murder investigation.

Man Arrested In Mersey Murder Probe
Police in Merseyside have launched a murder investigation after the discovery of the body of an elderly woman in Stoneycroft yesterday. Emergency services were called at arround 10.40pm on Tuesday to a report of a fire at a property on Gorsewood Road, Belle Vale.
