Teenage boys charged with murdering woman

Police have charged two teenage boys in connection with the murder of a woman at a christening party in London.

The two accused, a 14-year-old from Peckham and a 16-year-old from New Cross, are charged with the murder of a woman who was attending a christening party at a community centre in the Wood Dene Estate on Saturday evening.

The teenagers, who have also been charged with robbery, are to appear in court on Tuesday.

Originally from Sierra-Leone, Zainab Kalokoh, 33, from Stratford in east London, was killed by a single gunshot wound to the head. The victim, a guest at the christening party, is understood to have been holding the child of one of the other guests when she was shot. She later died in hospital.

Two other men arrested by police in connection with the incident have been released on police bail.
