Life sentences for ambulance killers

Four men have been sentenced to life imprisonment for clubbing a man to death in the back of an ambulance.

The men - Zak Mayanja, 18, Narcis Danila, 22, Christian Sakyi, 18 and Gabriel Alecu, 30, all from east London - were found guilty of the murder of Romanian Eugen Breahna last month.

They had all denied murder.

Mr Breahna was attacked in Bounds Green, north London last January in an alleged row between Eastern European gangs over cash machine scams.

He had been chased by a gang and sought refuge in the back of an ambulance, which was dealing with an unrelated call. However, he was followed into the ambulance, where he was beaten to death.

Judge Anthony Morris sentenced the four men to minimum sentences of between 16 and 21 years.
