Amelie murder - man remanded

A man has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of French student Amelie Delagrange.

Levi Bellfield, 37, from West Drayton, west London appeared before Bow Street Magistrates on Friday.

He has also been charged with the attempted of two other women - Kate Sheedy and Irma Dragoshi - and the attempted abduction and false imprisonment of 17-year-old Anna-Maria Rennie.

Amelie, 22, was attacked and beaten to death on Twickenham Green, south west London on August 19, 2004 after returning home from a wine bar. She died of severe head injuries.

The French student, who had come to the UK to improve her English, had only been in the country for two months.

Mr Bellfield was remanded in custody until March 31.

Man charged with Amelie murder
A man has been charged with the murder of French student Amelie Delagrange, police have confirmed. Levi Bellfield, 37, from West Drayton, west London, has also been charged with the attempted murders of two other women, as well as charges relating to the attempted abduction and false imprisonment of a fourth woman.

Milly Accused Remanded
The man facing trial over the murder of schoolgirl Milly Dowler has been remanded in custody. Levi Bellfield, 41, is accused of kidnapping and murdering the 13-year-old in 2002. Bellfield, a former nightclub doorman, appeared in court this morning to hear the charges against him.

Man in court over Marsha murder
A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of 19-year-old student Marsha McDonnell. Levi Bellfield, 37, from West Drayton, west London, was remanded in custody until June 9 at Bow Street Magistrates Court on Friday. Miss McDonnell was attacked close to her home in Hampton, south west London in February 2003.

Guilty Verdict In Bus Stalker Trial
Levi Bellfield has been found guilty of the murders of two women in the trial dubbed the 'Bus Stalker' killings. Bellfield was found guilty of the murders of Amelie Delagrange, 22, in August 2004 and Marsha McDonnell, 19, in February 2003, following nearly six days of deliberation by the jury at the Old Bailey.
