Woman arrested over Kent depot robbery

Police investigating the £53 million robbery at the Securitas depot in Kent have arrested a 27-year-old woman on suspicion of money laundering.

The woman was arrested in Chatham, Kent yesterday afternoon and was later released on bail.

Five people have appeared in court earlier this week charged in connection with the raid, the largest cash robbery ever to take place in the UK.

John Fowler, 57, from Staplehurst in Kent was charged with conspiracy to rob, as well as the kidnapping of depot manager Colin Dixon, his wife and the couple's son and handling stolen goods.

Stuart Royle, 47, from Maidstone, Jetmir Bucpapa, 24, from Tonbridge and Lea John Rusha, 33, from Southborough, were all charged with conspiracy to rob.

Kim Shackleton, 39, from Maidstone, was charged with handling stolen goods.

All five were remanded until June 12.

The £53 million robbery took place at the Securitas depot in Tonbridge, Kent on February 22.

Police have now recovered about a third of the stolen cash.
