Several injured after coach overturns on M6

Two adults and two children have been badly injured after a coach carrying schoolchildren overturned in the M6 in Lancashire.

22 casualties were also in suffering from shock and taken to hospital to be further monitored.

None of the injuries are thought to be life threatening.

The coach was taking children from Walney Secondary School on a school trip to Cumbria when the accident occurred on the south bound side side of the motorway between junctions 34 and 33 at University Hill in Lancaster at around 10.30am this morning.

The carriageway closed this morning but reopened at around 2.30pm today.

Police have not yet released the name of the coach company involved, but said they were arranging for water, food, a toilet and paramedics to be taken to the scene where motorists were trapped.

A total of 26 casualties were taken to the Royal Preston Hospital and the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

Ex-Kent Coach Injured In Lahore Attacks
A British cricket coach has been injured when gunmen opened fire on a bus carrying the Sri Lankan cricket team in Pakistan. The incident happened as the team bus came under gun and rocket fire as they travelled to face Pakistan in a Test match in Lahore.

Wi-fi Trial On The Glasgow Subway
A wi-fi system is to be tried out at Buchanan Street Station on the Glasgow Subway. If successful, passengers will be able to use their laptops and make phone calls. The link could be in operation by the end of the year. A similar scheme is also being considered by First Scotrail for central belt services.

Man Remanded Over Date Murder
A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a woman he asked out on a date. Twenty-seven-year-old Karl Taylor, a fitness trainer and football coach, pleaded not guilty to the murder of Kate Beagley during an appearance via video link at the Old Bailey on Tuesday. Miss Beagley, 32, from Walton-on-Thames in Surrey, disappeared in June.
