Child killed in holiday fall

An eight-year-old girl has died after falling down a gorge at a beauty spot in the Scottish Highlands.

The child is believed to have been walking with her parents and two sisters at the Steall waterfall, Glen Nevis, when the incident happened around 6:30pm on Tuesday evening.

Police said that the girl fell about 100ft and it is understood that she died at the scene.

Her body was discovered by an RAF helicopter and was taken to Bedford Hospital in Fort William.

Police said that it was not clear how the child had fallen.

Baby Girl Dies In Dog Attack
An 11-month-old baby has died after being mauled by a pet dog, police in Lancashire have said. The baby girl, from Emily Street in Blackburn, died in hospital at about 23:00 on Monday. Two Questioned Over Death Of Baby In House Fire
Police have arrested a man and a woman as part of the investigation into the death of an eight-month-old baby girl in a fire at a house in Enniskillen on Saturday. The man and woman have been arrested under the Children and Young Persons Act.
