Jordananian gunman 'acted alone'
A gunman who opened fire on a group of tourists in the Jordanian capital of Amman on Monday, killing a British man, is believed to have acted alone, according to reports.
Nasser Judeh, a spokesperson for the Jordanian government, told the Associated Press that the gunman - named as Nabil Ahmed Issa Jaourah - is believed to have had no links with any terrorist groups.
Mr Jaourah is understood to be from a village just outside Zarqa, the former home of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, who was the leader of al Qaeda in Iraq until his death in June.
The gunman opened fire on a group of tourists - from Britain, Australia, New Zealand and the Netherlands - near the Roman Amphitheatre in Amman on Monday. He was arrested after running into the crowd.
One British man, thirty-year-old Christopher Stokes, was killed and five other tourists, including two British women, were injured.

Two British tourists have been killed after their private plane came down shortly after take-off from an exclusive holiday resort in northern Australia. The couple, who are believed to be in their 60s, died instantly when their Cessna 421 aircraft came down and exploded close to the El Questro wilderness park, where they had been staying.
