Man killed in street fight

A man has been killed during a street fight in west London.

Another man was critically injured in the fight in Harlington High Street in the early hours of Friday morning, while several other members of the public, ambulance staff and police officers were also injured.

The victim, who was declared dead at the scene, is believed to have got out of his car and got involved in a fight with another man.

One man is understood to have been arrested.

It is believed that no weapons were used during the fight.

Street cleaners and other street workers have been urged to help fight crime by becoming the eyes and ears of a community. A report by the Audit Commission said that street workers employed by councils to observe low-level criminal activity in a community would not place an extra burden on them or the police.

Essex Police are searching for a man in connection with the death of anorther man in a street fight in Clacton. Police said one man has died and two more are in a serious condition following an incident at about 23:45 on Monday.

Man killed in Street Clash
A man has died following a street fight in Reading. Another man was seriously injured during the incident that took place in the St Mary’s Butts area of the town at around 4am this morning. Police believe two gangs were involved in the fight. Two men were taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital, where one man later died of his injuries.

Soap star denies assault charge
'Emmerdale' star Cleveland Campbell has denied breaking the jaw of another man during an alleged fight at a party, at Rochdale Magistrates' Court on Monday. Mr Campbell, 28, is accused of punching twenty-year-old electrician Daniel Stable, breaking his jaw, in the alleged fight in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, last November.

South African man charged with cannabis smuggling
A South African man has been charged today with smuggling around 15kgs of cannabis, worth an estimated £46,000, from South Africa to Belfast. Jacobus Frederick Engelbrecht, (24), was intercepted by Customs mobile detection officers at Belfast City Airport, when he arrived from Johannesburg via Heathrow on Sunday evening.
