Teenager injured in collision with police car
A teenage cyclist has been seriously injured after he was involved in a collision with a police car that was responding to an emergency call.
The collision occurred around 10:10pm on December 5 at the junction of Talbot Avenue and Oban Road in the Winton area of Bournemouth.
A marked police Ford Focus car collided with the 13-year-old who was riding on his bicycle.
The teenager suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Poole Hospital. However, according to reports, he was later transferred to Southampton General Hospital for specialist treatment. He is understood to be in a critical but stable condition.
The police car was being driven by a male police officer, accompanied by a female police officer. Both officers were not physically injured.
The roads have been closed to traffic and an investigation into the collision is now underway.
Dorset Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them on: 01202 222 222 or Crimestoppers anonymously on: 0800 555 111.
The collision has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

A young boy remains in a serious condition in hospital after being involved in a road traffic incident in the West Midlands yesterday. The 11-year-old was injured following a collision with a car in Wolverhampton. The boy was cycling close to a busy main road in Oldbury at the time.

North Wales Police have reported a second collision on the A55 expressway in north Wales, which shut the road completely. A man was fatally injured in a collision involving two HGV lorries and a transit van on Tuesday morning between St Asaph and Abergale.

A police van transporting a suspect has collided with a car in Sheffield, injuring seven people. South Yorkshire Police say the incident, which happened on Abbeydale Road at about 23:30 on Sunday, involved a police van and a red Peugeot 207.
