British man arrested on rape charge in Thailand
A British man wanted in connection with the alleged rape of an eight-year-old girl has been arrested in Thailand.
Sean McMahon, 45, was arrested by police in Bangkok following a request by the British embassy.
He had been working as an English teacher in the capital.
Mr McMahon was arrested in Torbay in Devon in April 1999 on suspicion of raping the girl, but disappeared after being released on bail.
It is expected that Mr McMahon will be sent back to the UK. He has denied the charges against him.

The research, conducted for the British Psychological Society, presented 168 university students with a date rape scenario, which included a summing-up statement by the judge, and asked them to decide on the guilt of the alleged rapist.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Raping 15-Year-Old
Police investigating the alleged rape of 15-year-old girl in a park in south-west London have made an arrest. It is understood police were called to Grove Park in Carshalton at about 20:30 on Saturday to reports of a rape. Officers investigating the incident have arrested a 26-year-old on suspicion of rape.

Shabir Ahmed, 59, led a child sex exploitation ring of nine men who targeted vulnerable young girls in the Rochdale and Oldham areas of Greater Manchester.

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the rape of 12-year-old girl in east London. Three males lead the girl to a "secluded" end of a street in Walthamstow at around 00:15 on Saturday before two of them attacked her, held her down and raped her.

A British national has been arrested in Spain in connection with rape offences committed in south east London. The man named by news sources as Ricky Devine is accused of raping the same victim over a number or years. He was arrested by Spain's National Police at the resort of Orihuela Costa, south of Alicante.
