Four arrested over injured baby

Police are questioning four people after a baby boy was taken to hospital suffering serious head injuries in Manchester.

The 17-month-old boy was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary on Thursday evening, before being transferred to the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, where his condition is described as critical.

Two men - aged 38 and 28 - and two women - aged 28 and 27 - were arrested in Salford on Thursday night and police are questioning them on suspicion of assault.

The exact relationship between the child and the four adults is not yet known.

Two More Charged In Denton Murder Investigation
Two more people have been charged with murder in connection with the death of a man in Denton on Sunday. Dominic Doyle, 21, died in hospital after he was seriously injured in a large fight on Manchester Road at about 3am on Sunday. Police arrested four teenagers, aged between 15 and 18, following the incident, with three being charged.

Two arrested in Greater Manchester anti-terror raids
Two people have been arrested under the Terrorism Act during a series of raids in Greater Manchester. Around 250 officers were involved in the operation, which began at 7am on Tuesday morning, although only 50 officers are believed to have been directly involved in the raids.

Former Royal Butler Admits Child Abuse Offences
A former royal butler to the Queen has today pleaded guilty to a number of child sex offences. Paul Kidd, 55, of Stalybridge, Greater Manchester appeared in court today accused of a number of charges including the possession of child porn, indecent assault and sexual activity with a child.
