Snoop Dogg and P Diddy cancel British tour dates

US rap stars Snoop Dogg and P Diddy have been forced to cancel the British leg of their joint European tour after Snoop Dogg was denied a visa.

The pair were due to play shows in London, Cardiff, Manchester, Nottingham and Glasgow as part of the One Love Peace Tour but Snoop - real name Calvin Broadus - had his application for a visa turned down.

During a trip to the UK last year, Snoop was cautioned by police after being arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and affray at Heathrow Airport.

A spokesperson for the tour said that "credible behind-the-scenes efforts were made to no avail" in order to reverse the decision. They said: "With late notice of Snoop being denied a visa, time has ran out and it is too late reconfigure the show."

The spokesperson said that both Snoop and P Diddy were "incredibly disappointed and devastated" by the decision, adding: "They really did not want to let fans down this way as the UK was a planned highlight of the tour. However, this ultimately was a situation out of their control."

The government has not commented on the decision not to grant Snoop Dogg a visa.

The decision means that the tour will now resume in Dublin on March 31 for two dates at the Point Theatre.
