Murder inquiry launched following Lancashire stabbing

Lancashire police have launched a murder inquiry after a 19-year-old man was stabbed to death.

The body of Andrew Cole, 19, was found at an address in Thornton, near Fleetwood, around 2am on Tuesday morning.

A post-mortem revealed that Andrew died as the result of a stab wound and police have launched a murder investigation.

A 48-year-old woman was arrested on Wednesday morning in the Thornton area in connection with the incident and is currently being interviewed by detectives.

Police said that Mr Cole, from Belvedere Road in Thornton, was well-known in the area and they have appealed for help in tracing his movements from 6pm on Monday evening until his body was discovered in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Detective Superintendent Steve Brunskill said: "This is an extremely tragic case and we would ask for the public's help in tracing the person responsible for this offence. Murder Investigation Launched Into Body Found In Manchester
Police in Manchester have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a man's body on Friday morning. Police say that the body of a 38-year-old man was found outside a property on Otter Drive in Cheetham Hill at about 07:30 this morning. They say that the man had injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.

Surrey Murder Suspect Arrested
Police have arrested 38-year-old Viktoras Bruzas on suspicion of murdering a couple in Surrey. The bodies of Patrick and Gillian Kettyle were found at their home in Fetcham in the early hours of Thursday morning. Police had issued an appeal for help in tracing Mr Bruzas in connection with the murders, and had urged the public not to approach him.

Man Charged With Attempted Murder
A man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident in Faversham at the weekend. Kent Police confirmed Lincoln Payne, of no fixed abode, had been charged with robbery, theft and two counts of attempted murder following an incident in Fostall Avenue on Saturday, 30 May.

Double Murder Investigation Underway After Bodies Found In Garden
The discovery of human remains at a house in Nottinghamshire has become a double murder investigation, police have said. Police were speaking on Monday about the discovery on October 10 of the remains of two bodies in the garden of a house in Blenheim Close, Forest Town, Nottinghamshire. Police say they were led to the property by a tip.

Arrests Made Over 2006 Double Murder
Officers from Trident, investigating gun crime in the capital, have arrested one man and two women in connection with the murder of Jordan Jackson and Leyla Djemal-Northcott in 2006. Following new information, police used a specialist diving team to search the Regent's Canal for the murder weapon.
