Evans and Piper divorce granted

DJ Chris Evans and actress Billie Piper have been granted a divorce by the High Court in London, nearly three years after they separated.

The couple married in Las Vegas in May 2001, five months after meeting on Evans' TV show 'TFI Friday'.

Evans, who is 17 years older than Piper, famously wooed the then 18-year-old teenager, who shot to fame as a pop singer, aged just 15, with a Ferrari filled with roses, even though she could not drive.

The couple announced that they were separating in October 2004. They insisted that the split was amicable.
