Body find closes M1 near Luton

A stretch of the M1 in Bedfordshire has been closed off after a woman's body was found.

Both south and northbound carriages of the motorway have been closed between junctions 10 and 11 near Luton as the scene is investigated.

It is understood that a pedestrian may have been struck by traffic.

Motorists reported seeing a body on the road shortly after 10am.

No further details are available at the moment.

Police have requested motorists to avoid the area.

Police Appeal For Missing 15-Year-Old
West Yorkshire Police have appealed for help in tracing 15-year-old Umme Habiba Tahir from Bradford. The teenager was last seen in Bradford city centre at about 17:00 on Tuesday, 18 August. She is Asian with dark brown hair which was tied up in a bun. She is described as very petite, around 5ft 2ins tall.

Police investigating the murder of 16-year-old Becky Watts have recovered a laptop, a tablet computer and a mobile phone belonging to the teenager. The Bristol teen was reported missing on 19 February, sparking a major police search operation.

Stepbrother Of Becky Watts Charged With Murder
The stepbrother of 16-year-old Becky Watts has been charged with murder. Nathan Matthews, 28, has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Bristol Crown Court on 2 April. His girlfriend, Shauna Hoare, 21, was also remanded in custody.

Two Girls Excluded From High School Over Teacher Murder Plot
Two teenage girls aged 14 and 15 year who were arrested over an alleged attempt to kill a teacher at Cwmcarn High School, have been permanently excluded. The pair were released under police bail after being questioned last week over their behaviour at the school, near Newport in South Wales.
