Notting Hill Carnival Shootings Investigated

Two shootings at this year's Notting Hill carnival are being investigated by police.

Two teenagers were injured in separate shooting incidents on Monday - the final day of the carnival.

A 17-year-old suffered a shoulder wound in one incident, while a 14-year-old boy was shot in the leg later. A man in his twenties was also stabbed during the event yesterday.

The first shooting happened near Blenheim Crescent and police confirmed that a person had been arrested in connection with this incident.

The second shooting happened at the junction of Portnall Road and Harrow Road in Maida Vale around 7pm. The 14-year-old is expected to be released from hospital later today.

The stabbing happened around 6:15pm at Westbourne Park. The victim is understood to be in a stable condition in hospital.

Three people are also understood to have been arrested on suspicion of possessing firearms in Bayswater Road.

Notting Hill Carnival has been running since 1965 and is the world's second largest street festival, after the Rio Festival in Brazil.
