Man In Court Over Wife's Murder
A man has appeared before Dublin District Court charged with murdering his wife.
David Burke, 48, of Laverna Dale, Carpenterstown in Dublin was charged with the murder of Jean Gilbert, 46, on Thursday night.
Mrs Gilbert was found injured at the couple's home on Tuesday morning. The mother-of-three was taken to hospital but died later from her wounds.
A post-mortem revealed that she died from stab wounds.
Mr Burke was remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court on September 6.

Man Remanded Over Newsagent Murder
A 38-year-old man has appeared in court today charged with the murder of a shop owner in Luton. Richard Leslie Dettmer, 38, of no fixed address, is charged in connection with the death of 59-year-old Jashbhai Patel, who was found at Moon's Newsagents in Park Street, Luton in the early hours of Sunday. Mr Patel died later in hospital.

Dyson Allen is accused of killing siblings Jordon Smith, 2, twins Holly and Ella, 4, and Reece, 19. They all died of smoke inhalation at a bungalow in Freckleton, Lancashire, in January. Their mother was saved by firefighters.

Craig Jamieson, 28, from Scotscoun, appeared before Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, where he was remanded in custody. Mr Jamieson was arrested on Friday, shortly after the baby died in Glasgow's Yorkhill Hospital, after being taken from her home in Partick.
