British Student Found Guilty Of Terror Offences

A British-born Muslim student has been guilty of three terrorism offences at Glasgow's High Court.

Mohammed Atif Siddique, 21, had denied charges of possessing terrorism-related material including CDs and videos of weapons use, guerrilla tactics and bomb making.

He had also denied possessing and distributing terrorist material via web-sites, such as linking to terrorist web-sites which showed how to use weapons and make bombs, and circulating terrorist publications.

Siddique was also found guilty of a further charge of causing a breach of the peace. This related to claims that he had shown images of suicide bombers and beheadings to students at Glasgow Metropolitan College and threatening to become a suicide bomber. Siddique had also denied this charge.

He is due to be sentenced on October 23.

Siddique, from Alva in Clackmannanshire, is due to be sentenced next month.

Speaking to reporters outside court, Siddique's lawyer Aamer Anwar said that he his client had not received a fair trial and said that they would be considering an appeal.
