Devon Death Blaze Probed

Police in Devon have launched an investigation into a house fire in Devon, which left one man dead and another seriously injured.

Fire crews and police were called to the house in Mulberry Close in Paignton around 2:50pm on Sunday.

The body of a man was found inside the property and a 29-year-old man was found outside the house, suffering from serious burns. He was taken to the specialist burns unit at Frenchay Hospital in Bristol for treatment.

The dead man is believed to be a male relative of the man who survived the blaze.

Some neighbouring properties had to be evacuated until the fire was brought under control.

Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed that the area is being treated as a crime scene and an investigation into the cause of the fire is now under way.
