Two Arrested Over Baby Knife Threat

Police in Cardiff have arrested two youths in connection with a robbery at a flat in the city during which a knife was held to a four-week-old baby's throat.

The two youths, one aged 18 from Ely and one aged 17 from Grangetown, are being held at a police station in the city.

The burglary happened at a flat in Clive Street in Grangetown in Cardiff around 6.30pm on Sunday.

Two teenagers broke into the flat and threatened the 25-year-old woman and her baby girl, before she handed over £20 and a few US dollars she had in the flat.

One of the teens then stayed in the flat with her, while the other raided a second flat in the same building.

It is believed that a 32ins LG plasma screen television and £2,500 in cash was stolen from the second property.

Police said that the baby was not hurt in the incident, but said that the mother had been terrified.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cardiff Central CID on: 029 2052 7420 or Crimestoppers on: 0800 555 111.
