Amy Winehouse Released On Bail

Troubled singer Amy Winehouse has been released on bail after being arrested in connection with an investigation into perverting the course of justice.

A spokesperson for the 24-year-old confirmed that she was arrested on Tuesday after attending an east London police station "voluntarily and at a pre-agreed time" and that this was "common practice" for someone being interviewed by police.

A Scotland Yard spokesperson said: "A 24-year-old woman has been bailed to return to an east London police station on a date in early March pending further inquiries."

Ms Winehouse's husband Blake Fielder-Civil, 25, is currently remanded in custody accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

It is alleged that Mr Fielder-Civil and Michael Brown, 39, from Holloway, north London, attacked James King, landlord of Macbeths public house in Hoxton, east London, last June.

Two other men are also similarly charged: Anthony Kelly, 25, from Chalk Farm, north-west London and James King, 36, from Risley in Derbyshire.

All four are due to appear in court for a plea and directions hearing on January 18, with a trial due to took place in June.

Father Appeals Over Paralysed Son's Shooting
The father of a teenager paralysed in a shooting incident has joined investigating officers to urge witnesses to come forward. Speaking from his son's hospital bedside Paul Smith said he knew people had information about those who shot and injured Raphael Smith, but couldn't understand why they had not spoken to police.

East London Murder Appeal
Detectives have appealed for information about the murder of a woman in Manor Park. Aliza Ahmed Mirza, 18, a student from Ilford, died on Saturday 3 April. Police had been called to reports of a collapsed female. It is believed she was stabbed while in the Forest View Road area. Miss Mirza was taken to hospital but later pronounced dead.

Arrests Follow Edmonton Murder
Police investigating the murder of 15-year old Negus McLean in Edmonton have today made a further two arrests. A 14-year old boy, and a 16-year old boy, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody. Police were called at 7.25pm on Sunday 10 April to reports of a stabbing in Westminster Road, north London.

Police Hunt Following Teen Murder
Police are appealing for information following a murder in Southwark. Teenager Lyle Tulloch, from Peckham was stabbed at Newall House in Harper Road on Saturday. Lyle, 15, was confirmed dead at the scene despite efforts from emergency services. A post mortem gave the cause of death as stab wounds and haemorrhaging.

Third Teenager Arrested Over Rape Of 12-Year-Old Girl
A third 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the rape of a 12-year-old girl in north-east London on Saturday 27 July. Scotland Yard confirmed that the teenager was arrested on Saturday at an east London police station.
