Lily Allen Suffers Miscarriage

Pop singer Lily Allen has suffered a miscarriage, it has been confirmed.

The 22-year-old announced that she was expecting her first child with boyfriend, Ed Simons, 37, from dance duo the Chemical Brothers in December.

At the time, her spokesperson said that the pregnancy was in a very early stage and asked for the singer's privacy to be respected.

Speaking to 'The Sun', Allen's spokesperson said: "We can confirm that Lily Allen has suffered a miscarriage.

"She and Ed Simons will be making no further comment and we ask that their privacy be respected during this difficult time."

Lily, the daughter of comic actor Keith Allen, had a smash hit with her debut album 'Alright Still' in 2006. Her second album is due to be released this year and she is also due to launch her own BBC Three television show.
