Video of Murdered Scottish Woman Released
CCTV images of a Scottish woman who was murdered in New Zealand have been released.
The footage shows fatally injured 26-year-old Karen Aim from Orkney following a night out.
Karen was found lying injured in the street in the North Island town of Taupo in the early hours of Thursday morning.
She had suffered serious head injuries and was still conscious when she was found. However, she later died in hospital.
Police said that she believed that Karen had visited a number of bars in Taupo on Wednesday night, as well as a service station.
Police have asked residents living near the scene of the attack to search their houses and gardens in case a weapon or clothes were dumped after the attack.
Karen's flatmates have also been interviewed as part of the investigation.
Karen arrived in New Zealand in October. It is understood to be her second visit to the country, following a three-month stay there in 2006.
Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Turner described the murder scene as "ghastly" and said that he had spoken to Karen's family in Orkney, as well as relatives in Manawatu, and said that they were "devastated" by the news of her death.
