Teenager, 14, Stabbed By Fellow Pupil

A 13-year-old boy was arrested today for the stabbing of a fellow pupil at a school at Leeds, police said.

West Yorkshire police were called just before 9.30 this morning with reports of a stabbing at Allerton Grange school in Moortown.

The injured boy, aged 14, is being treated at Leeds General Infirmary where he’s described as being in a stable condition. The 13-year-old attacker is now in police custody, a police spokeswoman said.

Parts of the school have been cordoned off. Detectives said the stabbing was not being treated as a racial attack.

Richard Morris, Chairman of Governors at Allerton Grange, released a statement through the city's education department, which said: "We cannot comment on this morning's incident as it is a matter for the police.

"The school is calm, lessons are proceeding as normal and we can reassure families that it is a safe environment for their children."
