Dublin Canal Body Has Head Injuries

The body of a man has been found near the Grand Canal in Dublin.

The body was found shortly before 8am on Monday morning, on the banks of the canal between Kylemore Road and the Naas Road.

According to reports, the man, who is believed to be in his late teens or early 20s, appeared to have suffered head injuries, with some reports indicating that he may have been shot in the head.

The dead man has not yet been identified, but reports have said that he had been living and working in the Bluebell area.

The body has been taken from the scene in order for a post-mortem to be carried out.

Gardaí have launched an investigation and the scene has been preserved for a technical examination. The State Pathologist's Office has also been informed.

Man Arrested Over Manchester Murder
Police investigating the murder of a 25-year-old man in Manchester last week have arrested a 70-year-old man. Craig Douglas was walking along Canal Street in the city last Monday evening with another man, when they were involved in an argument with two other men. Mr Douglas was then stabbed in the neck with a small knife.

Police Identify Body Found In Forth
Police have confirmed that the body found in the Firth of Forth on Sunday is that of missing man Charles McLachlan. Mr McLachlan, 39, went missing from his home in West Lothian on June 10.

Body Of Missing Man Found In Canal
The body of a man who went missing during a night out earlier this month has been recovered from a canal, it has been reported. Wayne Davies, 22, a tourist, disappeared after leaving the Hifi nightclub in the Dutch city of Leiden in the early hours of 19 April.

Pensioner Charged With Manchester Murder
A 70-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a 25-year-old man in Manchester last week. David Broady, from Victoria Square in Manchester, has been charged with the murder of Craig Douglas and is due to appear before magistrates this morning.
