Officers Hit In Dramatic Car Chase

Two teenage boys have been arrested following an incident where a car was driven at armed police officers in south London.

The incident happened in the early hours of Friday morning. Police had responded to a call about a group of men carrying firearms in Battersea.

When officers arrived, a black Honda Civic drove at them hitting both officers. One officer reportedly went over the car's bonnet, while the other was dragged with the car.

Both officers were injured in the incident, although their injuries are not life threatening. It is believed that one suffered impact injuries, while the other is reported to have suffered cuts and bruising to his leg and arm.

According to reports, three more officers were injured when the Honda collided with an Armed Response Vehicles as it sped from the scene.

The teenagers, aged 14 and 15, are being held at separate police stations in south London and the car has been removed for forensic examination.

Queen unveils National Police Memorial
The Queen has unveiled a National Police Memorial in tribute to British police officers killed in the line of duty. The £2.3 million project includes a large black wall with a glass cabinet displaying a book which names 1,600 police officers who have died in the line of duty.

Police Officers 'Crash Seized Car'
Two police officers in Manchester have been suspended from driving duties after they crashed a car which had been seized from a suspected drink-driver. The incident happened around 2:15am on Friday, when the officers spotted a Mitsubishi Lancer being driven erratically on Hale Road, Hale.
