Further Arrests In Shannon Case
A further three arrests have been made today as police probe deeper into the Shannon Matthew's case.
Alice Meehan, 49, and her two daughters, Amanda Hyett, 25, and Caroline Meehan, 29, have all been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
Alice Meehan, the mother of Karen Matthew's partner Mr Meehan, and his sister Amanda Hyett were previously arrested last week and released on bail, on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice and suspicion of assisting an offender.
Shannon's mother, Karen Matthews, 32, from Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, was remanded in custody yesterday on charges of neglect and perverting the course of justice.
Shannon disappeared on February 19, following a school swimming trip. She was discovered on March 14 hidden in the base of a bed in the flat of Michael Donovan, 39, who is awaiting trial for kidnap and false imprisonment in November.
Contractors are boarding up her Ms Matthew's home in Moorside road.
Police have asked residents from the area not to "take the law into their own hands" and make rash judgements about those who have been arrested in connection to disappearance of the schoolgirl.
Five people have now been arrested in connection with the alleged abduction of the nine year old.
Mr Meehan has been charged with possessing child pornography in an unrelated case.

Craig Meehan, 22, is accused of 11 specimen offences of child pornography. It is alleged that Mr Meehan, of Moorside Road, Dewbury, was in possession of 140 indecent images of children graded at levels one to four.

The mother of Shannon Matthews has been arrested as police continue to investigate the schoolgirl's alleged abduction. Karen Matthews, 32, from Dewsbury Moor in West Yorkshire was arrested on Sunday night on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

Karen Matthews has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged in connection with her daughter Shannon's disappearance. Two Further Arrests Made In 2007 Disappearance Case
Police in Bradford have arrested two men in connection with the 2007 disappearance of 32-year-old Sajid Saddique . Mr Saddique from Allerton was last seen on the morning of 14 February, over seven years ago. A 48 and 52-year-old were arrested in Bradford. It is understood that police have new evidence suggeting Mr Saddique was murdered.
