Man Held After Office Siege

A man - thought to be a delivery driver - has been arrested by police after an armed siege at an office in Hertfordshire.

While all the hostages involved have now been released, the police have said that four people were held for more than three hours from around 10.15 this morning.

The siege ended at around 1.45pm and the man, who is in his 30s, was arrested for false imprisonment.

The incident took place at a brewing firm, French & Jupps, on an industrial estate in Roydon Road, Stansted Abbotts.

A police spokesman said searches for weapons are now taking place at the premises and that it is expected that a high police presence will be patrolling the Standstead Abbots for the remainder of the day.

Officers from the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit will interview those involved in the incident.

Police say that the man who surrendered himself is being held in custody.
