Teen In Court Over Man's Death

A teenage boy is due to appear in court charged with the murder of a 41-year-old man.

Liam Churchley, 19, from Bristol, will appear before Bristol Magistrates Court today in connection with the death of Alan Riddock, 41.

Mr Riddock died after been stabbed near the Park House pub in Bedminster on Saturday at around 8pm. He died from his injuries in Frenchay Hospital.

Detective Inspector Paul Appleton said: "Although one individual has now been charged with this offence, we are still appealing for the public to help us piece together the events of Saturday evening.

"Enquiries we have already made lead us to believe there is outstanding offenders for this crime and I would ask if any member of the public has information to help enquiries, they contact police as soon as possible."

Police say that two other men, aged 30 and 27 years, have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Floral tributes are being sent in for Mr Riddock, whose photograph was released by his family yesterday.

It is understood that his son, Alan, had returned home from serving in Afghanistan a few days before his father's death.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the attack on Saturday.
