Investigation Launched After Boy Falls To His Death
An investigation is underway after a young boy died after falling from a tower block.
Christian Castano fell from the 18th floor flat in Whitstable House in Ladbroke Grove, north Kensington, at the weekend.
Detectives do not believe the death was suspicious.
A spokesman for Kensington and Chelsea Tenants' Management Organisation (KCTMO), said they would investigate the "terrible tragedy" and that they were offering counselling support to residents in the block.
It is understood that the windows were designed to stop them opening wider than four inches.
The Daily Mail has reported that Christian had been waving to friends when a catch on the window broke.
It has been reported that neighbours tried to revive the young boy as he lay at the base of the building.
His mother has told the press that she "couldn't explain" how she felt and that her son's death was "such a waste of life".
The KCTMO has only received two complaints about window in the tower block this year, neither of which related to the width of the restrictors.
