Teenagers Released On Bail After Stab Death

Two teenagers arrested over the murder of Ben Kinsella, have been released on police bail.

Ben was attacked during a row with youths in York Way, Holloway, north London in the early hours of Sunday morning.

One of Ben's friends said he made a "desperate" phone begging for help as he lay dying on the street.

It is reported that David Dugdale, 17, was the friend that received the call. "He called me on the phone and just said 'help'. He sounded really scared and then it just clicked off," he said.

The teenager who is the brother of actress Brooke Kinsella, died in hospital a few hours later.

Brooke, who is best known for playing Kelly Taylor in BBC soap Eastenders is said to be "devastated".

Her publicist says she has pulled out of a production of Torn at the Arcola Theatre in east London.

It is thought that Ben had been at a party at the Shillibeers pub, in North Road, when the row broke out between several youths.

Ms Kinsella, 24 and her parents Debbie and George, paid their respects at the murder scene yesterday.

A makeshift shrine has been set up at the scene of the stabbing and is covered in more than 100 bouquets, balloons and an Arsenal scarf.

One of the tributes reads: "We will always remember you Ben for your loving ways and that great smile. Paul and Louise".

Ben's headteacher at Holloway School said "we are all devastated" and "Ben had so much going for him".

"It is not an exaggeration to say he was one of the most popular students in the school, with both staff and fellow pupils," he added.

The two youths arrested, both 16, were released on bail to return to a police station at a date in late August while enquiries continue.

Ben is the 17th teenager to die as a result of violence and the 12th to be stabbed in the capital so far this year.

In 2007, 27 teenagers where killed in the city.
