Houses Raided In 'Terror Investigation'
A number of homes have been raided in Stoke-on-Trent as part of investigations under the Terrorism Act. Staffordshire Police revealed a "small group of people" were suspected of being involved in promoting violent extremist views. However, no arrests were made during the searches which took place in the Cobridge, Burslem and Tunstall areas of the city.
Police Investigate Knife Attack
Police are investigating another fatal stabbing in London. A man aged in his 30s has died after being attacked near a petrol station at Elephant and Castle at around 10.30pm yesterday. It is understood that the man, thought to be of North African descent, was killed by a stab wound to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene which is close to the Total garage on Old Kent Road. The Metropolitan Police said officers are trying to establish the identity of the victim and to inform his next of kin. The murder comes just a day after 16-year-old Ben Kinsella lost his life in a knife attack in Islington, north London.
Police Appeal After Fatal Motorway Collsion
Police are appealing for witnesses after a 29-year-old man died in a motorway collision. Shortly after 1.50pm on Monday, police were called to the M6 southbound between junctions 26 and 27 at Standish following reports a grey Renault Clio had left the carriageway and collided with an embankment. Police attended the scene with emergency services and found the car had overturned. A 29-year-old passenger had been thrown from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers are investigating how the collision happened and are appealing for witnesses. Police say a 22-year-old man from Liverpool has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving with excess alcohol. He remains in custody for questioning.

British Man Dies In Dubai Police Custody
A British man has died in police custody in Dubai. Lee Bradley Brown, 39, from east London, died on Tuesday after he was taken to a Dubai police station where he was allegedly assaulted and put into a cell. It has been reported that Mr Brown, was arrested over a row at the luxury hotel Burj Al Arab hotel.

Man Arrested Over Kent Doctor's Murder
A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a doctor in Kent. Consultant paediatrician Dr Victoria Anyetei, 54, was found in her car in the driveway of her home in Dartford on August 14. She had been stabbed to death. Kent Police said that the man was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Dartford.

Memory Stick Goes Missing At Police HQ
A memory stick containing sensitive police data has gone missing in Edinburgh, it has emerged. A search was launched after the loss of the USB stick on 26 February, which contained information on hundreds of police investigations in the city. It had disappeared at Lothian and Borders Police's headquarters up to two months before it was reported.

Six Arrested Over Nottingham Street Brawl Death
Police investigating the death of a 19-year-old man in Nottingham have arrested six people. Joshua Bradley, of Bulwell, died following a suspected street fight in Thurland Street, on 08 February. Two men, aged 21 and 19, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The release of a man convicted of killing three unarmed police officers in 1966 has been described as "sickening". Harry Roberts, now aged 78, has been released from prison after serving 48 years for 1966 murders of three unarmed police officers in Shepherd's Bush in west London.
