Shop Shooting Victim Named As Police Question Teenager
Police have been given more time to question a teenager over the murder of a youth who was shot dead in a London supermarket.
Ryan Bravo, 18, was shot at the Costcutter store on Camberwell Road, Walworth, on Wednesday. He died of a single gunshot wound to the back. Police believe the teenager was an innocent bystander, caught in the line of fire.
A 19-year-old suspect, who was arrested after the shooting, is being questioned at a south London police station.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "A warrant of further detention has been granted for a 19-year-old man arrested in connection with the murder of Ryan Bravo."
Police are wishing to question two young black men who rushed inside the shop to get away from an armed gang riding mopeds.
As the men tried to escape into the shop, two shots were fired, killing Ryan. He had gone into the store with his brother and cousin to buy snacks.
Detectives are also looking for up to five male suspects who drove away on three mopeds and may have been surveying the area for some time looking for their victims.
Superintendent Victor Olisa, who is based in Southwark, said "we know the whole community will be shocked by this random act of violence" and "I want to reassure the public that we are doing everything we can to pursue the killers".
Ryan's mother, Elfrida Kiffin, said her son was "a loving brother, partner and son who was already dearly missed".
"I would urge anyone that knows or saw anything to come forward and assist officers from Operation Trident in their ongoing efforts to trace witnesses to this cold-blooded and reckless act," she said.
The killing marks the 22nd young person to be killed as a result of violence in London this year.

The discovery of human remains at a house in Nottinghamshire has become a double murder investigation, police have said. Police were speaking on Monday about the discovery on October 10 of the remains of two bodies in the garden of a house in Blenheim Close, Forest Town, Nottinghamshire. Police say they were led to the property by a tip.

Two men, brothers Gareth Harris, 17, and Anthony Price, 20, were found in the garden of a house, with gunshot wounds to the lower legs.
