Teen Arrested After Armed Stand-Off
A teenager has been arrested after an armed stand-off with police. Police were called to Lanchester Avenue, Gateshead, after receiving reports of a disturbance, which took place more than three hours to resolve. A Northumbria Police spokesman said the 19-year-old had entered the house earlier in the day and refused requests to leave. "Police negotiators began speaking to the man and three hours after he had gone into the house he handed them a knife. "He was arrested on suspicion of affray and taken to Byker Police Station," the spokesman said.
Youth Charged with Boy's Rapes
A 14-year-old boy has been charged with two counts of rape in connection with an assault on two juveniles in a Cambridgeshire park.
A police spokesperson said one victim was six years old and the other was eight. The incident happened in Woodfield Park, Welland, Peterborough, at about 6.30pm on 16 August. The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was due to appear later at the Youth Court in Peterborough.

Severe Burns For Brighton Beach Baby
A five-month-old baby from London suffered 20% burns over his body while his mother relaxed on a beach beside him. The baby was taken to the Royal Sussex Hospital for treatment after he was spotted by a police officer on a beach in Brighton on Sunday, in temperatures of 25 degrees.

Teenager Arrested Over Rape Of 12-Year-Old Girl
A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the rape of 12-year-old girl in east London. Three males lead the girl to a "secluded" end of a street in Walthamstow at around 00:15 on Saturday before two of them attacked her, held her down and raped her.

Woman Arrested At Heathrow On Terrorism Charges
A 25-year-old woman has been arrested at Heathrow Airport on suspicion of terrorism offences. It is understood that the woman was travelling with her one-year-old son when officers arrested her as she disembarked a flight from Turkey. Police said her charges relate to offences in Syria.

An investigation into two people missing from a ferry has led to the arrest of 11 people in the Netherlands. The Stena Britannica, sailing from Harwich to the Hook of Holland, reported on Thursday morning that two passengers were missing, and were thought to have jumped overboard.

London bombings ‘suspect’ charged
A man arrested last weekend in connection with the July 7 London bombings has been charged with wasting police time. Imran Patel, 27, from Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, was arrested last Saturday, on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism. The arrest followed a tip-off from the ‘News of the World’.
