Teen Stabbed In Playground Attack

A teenager has been critically injured after being stabbed in a playground attack. The 15-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital, after he was attacked at the Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School in Greenford, west London. He is said to be in a critical but stable condition. A 16-year-old youth was arrested at an address in Southall and is being held at a west London police station.

Elderly Couple Found Dead At Home

An elderly man and woman have been found dead at their home in East Renfrewshire, police have revealed. Ambulance crews were called to the Aurs Road, Barrhead at around 6.45pm on Thursday following reports a man had suffered a heart attack. The man, aged 74, was then discovered inside the property and his 68-year-old partner was later found in the garden. A Strathclyde Police spokesman said: "Emergency services were called to a house in Barrhead yesterday and the bodies of a male and a female were found at the property. Inquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of death." Police also said the deaths do not appear to be suspicious.

UK Environmental Sector Urged To Look Overseas

UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) has identified key markets for the UK's £25 billion a year environmental industries. The total world environmental goods and services sector is expected to grow by more than 30 per cent to US$688 billion by 2010 offering significant opportunities for UK companies. The report, 'Market opportunities in environmental goods and services, renewable energy, carbon finance and Carbon Abatement Technologies' (CATS), confirmed Australia, Brazil, China, India, South Africa, Turkey and the USA as markets that could benefit from UK expertise.

Appeal After Pelsall Assault

West Midlands police are appealing for help from the public after a man was attacked in the Pelsall area of Walsall. The 48-year-old spoke with a group of youngsters on Church Road at around 10.15pm on Saturday November 1. One of the group punched the man, causing him to fall to the floor. He was then kicked, causing a suspected fractured collarbone. The offender is described as a white male, aged between 14 and 16 years old, he was wearing a black hooded style anorak and a baseball cap.

New Olympic Park Plans Unveiled

New plans have been unveiled for the London 2012 Olympic Park. They will combine centuries of British park design with ground-breaking green technology to create a 21st Century park. Former industrial land, much of it contaminated through years of industrial neglect, is being transformed to create 100 hectares of parklands that will provide a colourful setting and festival atmosphere both during and after the Games. Visitors to the Park during the Games will enjoy broad sweeping lawns and footpaths leading down to riverbanks. It also includes seating areas and public spaces with live screens showing the sporting action.

Extra Police Dispatched Across London
Amid fears of a terrorist attack, security has been stepped up at transport hubs across London. The UK's terror threat level remains at 'severe' - the second highest level, as it has done for the last year, meaning an attack is still highly likely. However a heavier presence will now be in force across the capital.

Men Jailed After Travelling To UK For Revenge Attack
Two Slovakian men have been jailed after travelling to the UK to carry out a revenge attack on the new boyfriend of one of their former partners. The men, 24-year-old Robert Stehlik and 41-year-old Milos Bellan, were arrested when they arrived on a ferry from Calais into Dover in the early hours of 13 January, 2015.

Acid Attack Victims Due Back In UK
The two 18-year-old British women injured in an acid attack in Zanzibar are due to arrive back in the UK today. Kirstie Trup and Katie Gee were in the last week of a volunteer teaching job they had taken on the east African island when they had acid thrown at them as they walked through Stone Town.
