Man Arrested Over Model's Murder
A 21-year-old West Midlands man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a promising young model at the weekend.
Amy Leigh Barnes was found stabbed at her Bolton home on Saturday morning.
The 19-year-old later died from her injuries in hospital.
Ms Barnes's family has described the part-time model as "a very special person and much loved by all her family and friends".
The family’s statement said: "We, as a family, are absolutely distraught and destroyed more than words can say.
"Words cannot express the pain we are in. We loved our baby so much, she was our reason for living.
"She was the most beautiful princess.
"We will not rest until justice has been done for our gorgeous daughter."
A former pupil of Lords Independent School in Bolton, Ms Barnes was listed on the books of Manchester-based modelling agency Nemesis Casting.
Last year she was a finalist in the Miss British Isles beauty contest.
A man was arrested on suspicion of her murder on Saturday night.
He was transferred to Manchester for questioning yesterday.

Missing Boy's Funeral Held Today
A funeral will be held later for a British boy who drowned while cycling on an island in the south of France. 12-year-old Pierre Barnes from Grantham in Lincolnshire vanished on 27 October while cycling on Porquerolles. The boy went missing just hours after arriving for a half-term family holiday.

The search for the missing 12-year-old British school boy who was missing on a French island has come to an end as detectives announce his body has been identified. Pierre Barnes from Grantham in Lincolnshire was exploring the island of Porquerolles in southern France last Saturday when he disappeared.

Life For Manchester Murderer
A 33-year-old Manchester man who killed a devoted family man has been jailed for life. Paul Cusack, of Mauldeth Road West, pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of 67-year-old semi-retired joiner Sid Waller on the grounds of diminished responsibility at Manchester Crown Court.

French Police Arrest Man Over Alps Murder Of British Family
A man has been arrested by French police in connection with the murder of a British family in the Alps in 2012. The 48-year-old man from the Haute-Savoie region is being held in formal custody, French police have said. It is understood that the man was arrested following the publication of an identikit image released in November.
