Pc Beshenivsky Accused Admits Robbery

The man accused of murdering Pc Sharon Beshenivsky in Bradford in 2005 has admitted robbing a travel agent on the day she died.

Mustaf Jama has pleaded guilty to one count of robbery. However, he denies murder, possession of firearms and possessing prohibited weapons.

The 28-year-old will now face a trial at Newcastle Crown Court.

Before the trial started, Jama pleaded guilty to one count of robbery on 18 November 2005.

Pc Beshenivsky, a mother-of-three was killed at the scene of the robbery at the Universal Travel Agents on Morley Street, Bradford in November 2005. She died on her daughter's fourth birthday.

Her colleague Pc Teresa Millburn, then 37, was also shot and wounded during the robbery, but survived.

Five people have been convicted in connection with Pc Beshenivsky's murder.

PC shooting suspect remanded
A 19-year-old man has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of PC Sharon Beshenivsky earlier this month. Yusuf Jama, from north Kensington, London, appeared before magistrates in Leeds on Wednesday. He was also charged with robbery and firearms offences. He is due to reappear in court on December 7.

Four arrested over Pc Beshenivsky murder
Police investigating the murder of Pc Sharon Beshenivsky have arrested four men in London and Leicester. West Yorkshire Police confirmed that three men - a 24-year-old from Halifax and two 24-year-old men from London - in London on Wednesday night. A 32-year-old man was also arrested in Leicester.

Hunt continues for two PC shooting suspects
Police investigating the murder of PC Sharon Beshenivsky are continuing to hunt for two suspects, following the arrest of a suspect at the weekend. Yusuf Jama, 19, from north Kensington, London, was arrested during a raid at a house in Birmingham on Saturday morning.

New leads in PC murder investigation
Police investigating the murder of PC Sharon Beshenivsky are following new leads after an appeal on BBC’s ‘Crimewatch’ programme last night. Detective Superintendent Andy Brennan, who is leading the investigation, said that police had received “some interesting calls” following the programme on Tuesday night.

PC Ian Dibell Posthumously Wins Bravery Award
A national police bravery award has been posthumously awarded to PC Ian Dibell (41), who was killed when he tackled a gunman in the street near his home. Mr Dibell died while trying to disarm Peter Reeve, who had opened fire on a couple in Clacton, Essex, in July last year.
