Elderly Woman Dies After Mugging
A murder investigation is underway after an elderly woman died after a mugging in north-west London.
The 81-year-old, who has not yet been named, suffered fatal injuries after the suspect grabbed her handbag.
She died from her injuries in Northwick Park Hospital eight hours after the incident.
According to police the woman was targeted at around 8pm in Streatfield Road, Harrow, as she walked home alone.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: "A suspect had grabbed a bag from the woman who sustained injuries during the incident.
"She was taken to Northwick Park Hospital where her condition worsened and she was pronounced dead at 3.55am today.
"We await formal identification, next of kin have been informed. A post mortem will be scheduled in due course."
Detective Chief Inspector Jessica Wadsworth of the Homicide and Serious Crime Command is leading the murder inquiry.

Baby Death Mother Named
The British woman charged with causing the death of her newborn baby in a hotel room in Crete has been named. Leah Andrew, from London, has been charged with infantide after being arrested in Malia on Tuesday. Ms Andrew was rushed to hospital by local residents after giving birth alone in her room.

Woman In Critical Condition Arrested Over Death Of Child
Police in Bradford have arrested a woman on suspicion of murder after she was found unconscious in the backyard of a property in the city. The woman, understood to be 36-years-old, was found along with her two-year-old daughter at the back of a property in Delamere Street on Tuesday morning. They had both suffered serious injuries.
