Teen Accused Of Lithuanian Man’s Murder

A teenager has appeared in court accused of murdering a 35-year-old Lithuanian man. Alexander McDonald Sharp, from Bo'ness, made no plea or declaration and was remanded into custody following an appearance at Falkirk Sheriff Court. He was also accused of one charge of assault. Viaceslav Tomasevicius, who had settled in Bo'ness with his partner and baby, died on Saturday after a disturbance at the town's Borrowstoun Crescent. Central Scotland Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.

Man Charged With Stab Death

A man has been charged with the murder of a 26-year-old man who was found stabbed. Kai Orgles, 19, of Moore Close, Durrington, is due to appear at Worthing Magistrates' Court later. Syden Pearson, 26, of no fixed address, was found with multiple stab wounds in Shelby Road, Durrington, on Friday evening. Sussex Police said he was taken to Worthing Hospital by ambulance where he was pronounced dead.

Man Dies after Crash

A 46-year-old man has died two days after he was knocked down by a car in the Greater Manchester area. The pedestrian had been critically ill in hospital since the accident at Cheadle Road, Stockport, on Saturday night. He died on Monday in Salford Royal Hospital where he was being treated for head injuries. Greater Manchester Police have appealed for witnesses to the accident to contact them.

Landmark Strategy to Transform Dementia Services

Care for people with dementia will be transformed with the appointment of dementia advisers, better training for GP's and the establishment of memory services staffed by specialists to provide early diagnosis and treatment, Health Secretary Alan Johnson announced today. The first National Dementia Strategy, backed by £150 million over the first two years, will increase awareness of dementia, ensure early diagnosis and intervention and radically improve the quality of care that people with the condition receive. The strategy calls for specialist memory services to be established throughout the country.

Pedestrian Killed After Being Hit By Car

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a pedestrian died after being hit by a car in Margate, Kent. A 58-year-old man was declared dead on arrival at Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital after the incident on Cliftonville's Eastern Esplanade. A post mortem examination revealed the victim died from multiple injuries on Friday. Police are questioning 38-year-old man from Margate about the incident.

Six Arrested Over Nottingham Street Brawl Death
Police investigating the death of a 19-year-old man in Nottingham have arrested six people. Joshua Bradley, of Bulwell, died following a suspected street fight in Thurland Street, on 08 February. Two men, aged 21 and 19, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Section Of M1 Closed Following Fatal Collision
A section of the northbound carriageway of the M1 between junction 16 and 17 is closed following a fatal road traffic accident. A man died after his car collided with a lorry in the early hours of Tuesday morning, according to police. No other details of the victim have been released.

Man In Court Over Asda Car Park Death
A 65-year-old man has appeared in court charged with manslaughter after a 64-year-old man was killed in an alleged row over a parking space, Sky News has said. Alan Watts appeared at Bedford Magistrates' Court only to confirm his name and address and that he understood the charge.

Family Appeal Over Murder Of 'Decent Law-Abiding Citizen'
The family of a Birmingham taxi driver who was stabbed and left on the roadside to die, have issued an appeal to help catch his killer. Mohammed Arshad, 36, died last Thursday after being assaulted in Kings Norton, Birmingham, on Wednesday night. He was found by a passer-by and taken to Selly Oak Hospital where he died the following morning.

Man Dies Following Police Pursuit
A man has died after the car he was travelling in crashed on the outskirts of Consett following a short pursuit by police. The incident, which started just after 11.50pm on Monday, 23rd June when police received a report of two men behaving suspiciously in the area of the Tesco Extra store on Genesis Way in Consett.
