Woman Dies In Motorway Crash
A woman died when a car overturned as it left the M5 in Gloucestershire and ended up on a verge between Cheltenham and Tewkesbury. Some of the six other passengers were thrown from the people carrier when it crashed on the northbound carriageway. Two boys, a girl, a woman and two men were taken to hospital with serious injuries, police said. The motorway was closed overnight after the crash at about 9pm but has since reopened.
Man Arrested After Cannabis Farm Discovery
A man has been arrested after a cannabis farm was discovered at a house in Oldham. Police searched the address on Hayfield Close, Moorside, just after 8.30am on Wednesday 6 May 2009. A cannabis farm consisting of 25 large plants was found in one of the bedrooms. A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and is currently in police custody. The search was a result of information from the public and Police Community Support Officers (PCSO's) have delivered leaflets to the area to inform residents of the police activity. Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 0161 856 9028 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Man Stabbed In Brooklands Attack
A man was stabbed in the leg and shoulder in Brooklands. At about 9.30pm on Monday 4 May 2009, the 23-year-old man was walking with a friend along Arden Lodge Road when a Seat Ibiza stopped alongside them. Four men then got out of the car. One of the offenders said "stab him", at which point the victim and his friend started to run away. The victim's friend managed to get away, but the group managed to catch him further along Arden Lodge Road, then stab him in the leg and shoulder. He was taken to hospital for treatment in a serious, though not life threatening condition. One of the offenders is described as having a skinny build and being 6ft 1in tall. He was wearing a hooded top and tracksuit bottoms. An offender carrying a knife is described as being white, around 19 to 20-years-old, of medium build with a pale complexion. A third offender is described as black, wearing a hooded top.
Teaching Pupils That Tax Matters
HMRC has launched a new teaching resource for secondary schools - Tax Matters. The free, online interactive resource includes videos, quizzes and games, as well as key facts and figures, to help young people learn about tax and its role in society. The new materials are primarily aimed at education professionals who teach Personal, Social, Health and Economic education (PSHE) and citizenship to pupils aged between 11 and 19. They are also designed to be used by charities and voluntary organisations that work with young adults not in employment, education or training.

Wanted Man Arrested In London
The man wanted in connection with the murder of a 66-year-old man who intervened during a robbery, has been arrested. Ian John McLoughlin, 55, was arrested in London at around 01:00. He was wanted on suspicion of murder and robbery. Airports and ports had been put on alert as police hinted for McLoughlin.

British Man Dies In Dubai Police Custody
A British man has died in police custody in Dubai. Lee Bradley Brown, 39, from east London, died on Tuesday after he was taken to a Dubai police station where he was allegedly assaulted and put into a cell. It has been reported that Mr Brown, was arrested over a row at the luxury hotel Burj Al Arab hotel.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a doctor in Kent. Consultant paediatrician Dr Victoria Anyetei, 54, was found in her car in the driveway of her home in Dartford on August 14. She had been stabbed to death. Kent Police said that the man was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Dartford.

Man Arrested Over Sexual Assault In Somerset
Police investigating a sexual assault in Somerset, during which a mother and child were tied up and held at knifepoint, have arrested a 59-year-old man. Police arrested the man on suspicion of aggravated burglary and sexual assault, in connection with the incident in Sydenham, Bridgewater on 21 January.

Police in Cardiff searching for a missing person have uncovered a cannabis farm in a disused ward of a psychiatric hospital. It is understood that around 30 cannabis plants were uncovered by officers during a search at Whitchurch Hospital in Cardiff. News of the cannabis farm was revealed in a report by the BBC.
