Baby P Mother Jailed For Toddler's Death
The mother of Baby Peter has been jailed indefinitely for causing or allowing the 17-month-old's death.
The 27-year-old must serve a minimum of five years in prison - which would include the 21 months she has already been imprisoned following Peter's death in August 2007.
Her 32-year-old boyfriend has been sentenced to 12 years in jail for causing the toddler's death, and life with a minimum term of 10 years for raping a two-year-old girl.
The couple's lodger, Jason Owens, was jailed indefinitely for causing Baby Peter’s death. He must serve at least three years.
Meanwhile, a damning report review into the death of Baby Peter has found that social workers' actions were "completely inadequate".
A second Serious Case Review said agencies lacked “toughness and urgency” by not taking the 17-month-old into care.
Baby Peter died in August 2007 after months of abuse, despite being seen by health care professionals and social workers at least 60 times.
If the right principles had been followed by Haringey council "the situation would have been stopped in its tracks at the first serious incident", the Review also found.
The authorities were condemned for failing to challenge Baby Peter’s mother about his shocking catalogue of injuries. The Review concluded Peter would still be alive today if he had been taken into care.
The review said: "Peter deserved better from the services which were there to protect him."

Mother Of Baby P Released From Prison
Tracey Connelly, the mother of baby P, has been released from prison, according to press reports. Connelly, who was jailed in 2009 after admitting "causing or allowing her son's death", is understood to have been recommended for release by the Parole Board. She was sentenced to a minimum of fives and had served a year on remand.

No Inquest Over Baby P
A north London Coroner has ruled that an inquest into the death of Baby Peter will not go ahead. Shortly after Baby Peter Connelly was found dead, at his Tottenham home in 2007, an inquest was opened and then adjourned. The toddler was discovered with more than 50 injuries in a blood-splattered cot.

Baby P Doctor 'Suicidal'
A paediatrician who allegedly failed to spot signs of injury on Baby P's body just days before his death was unfit to appear before a medical tribunal today. Dr Sabah Al-Zayyat, who was at the centre of a media furore, is said to be suicidal.

Baby P Sentences "Not Unduly Lenient"
The jail sentences handed down to those found guilty for their involvement in the death of Baby P, will not be reviewed, the Attorney General today announced. Baroness Scotland was considering whether the sentences for the trio were "unduly lenient".
